11. Flip the brush along and across the top path. It seems to me

that both the top and bottom brushstrokes should emanate

from the inside of the eye. So press the V key to switch back to

the black arrow tool, and click the top path to select it (just in

case it’s not already selected). Next, click the

icon at the

bottom of the Brushes panel to bring up the Stroke Options

(Art Brush) dialog box. Turn on the Flip Along check box to

fl ip the brush lengthwise. Unfortunately, now the beginning

of the brushstrokes (on the left side of the eye) don’t align with

each other. So also turn on Flip Across to fl ip the brush top-

to-bottom and align the strokes, as in Figure 9-15. Click the

OK button to accept your changes.

12. Remove the white fi ll inside the eye. There’s really no way to

align the purple brushstrokes with the white inside the eye,

so I suggest we just get rid of the latter. In the Layers panel,

click the  triangle in front of the Horus layer to twirl it open.

Scroll down to the bottom of that list, and twirl open the Eye

group to reveal a group of concentric circles (Hypno) masked

by a path called Eye. Click the
