What Did You Learn?
WHAT DID YOU LE ARN ?
Descriptions
A. This command allows you to convert a standard linear or radial gradi-
ent into a more exotic gradient mesh, among other things.
B.
The intermediate subpaths that Illustrator draws and updates automati-
cally between two extreme paths in a blend.
C. Obvious steps of color that confl ict with the otherwise fl uid transitions
in a gradient, blend, or mesh.
D. The bar that shows the length and direction of a gradient (as well as the
colors and stops when you hover over it) in a selected path when the
gradient tool is active.
E. Combined with the Paste in Place command, this new feature lets you
place a blend or collection of paths inside a clipping mask.
F. This most complex and powerful of Illustrator’s gradient features lets
you create and adjust anchor points of color in two-dimensional space,
as well as blend between neighboring colors in all directions.
G.
Illustrator’s oldest gradient option lets you design custom gradations
and morphs, in which one path steadily transitions into another.
H. While I use these only rarely to adjust path outlines, the likes of warp
and pucker can be exceedingly useful for painting free-form distortions
into a gradient mesh.
I. A shape that crops the boundaries of the paths below it, as well as up-
dates dynamically whether you edit the shape or the paths.
J. The locations of the key color
