17. Assign the Electro Blisco colors. Along the left side of the Re-

color Artworks dialog box, all thirteen of the current existing

colors are listed, along with black and white. You could reas-

sign any of these colors individually by double-clicking on the

box in the New column and changing them to something else

in the Color Picker dialog box. But that doesn’t leverage the

magic of this feature.

Instead, click on the Electro Blisco collection in the Color Groups

panel. Illustrator assigns each of the existing colors a new color

from Color Group 1. Since there are more existing colors than

there are in the chosen color group, Illustrator puts the existing

colors together as it sees fi t and reassigns them tint variations

from the color group swatch, as you can see in Figure 11-54.

Make sure the Recolor Art check box in the lower left is turned on. It’s

the equivalent of the Preview check box you’ve seen elsewhere .

18. Swap the colors. Illustrator assigns the color group swatches

based on the stacking order of the colors in the original art-

work. I don’t think assigning the minty green to the oranges

does the piece justice. So grab the set of medium pinks in the

New column that are currently assigned to the blues and move

it up to the orange row. Then swap the dark bottom two new
