You can use Photoshop's Type tool to create a selection by choosing the Type Mask tool, which is hanging out with the normal Type tool in the Tool palette (Figure 2.39). When you use that tool, Photoshop will show you a preview of the selection (with a red overlay on the image, as shown in Figure 2.40) while you are editing the text, and then it will deliver a selection when you press Enter. I'll cover the options of this tool in Bonus Chapter 4, “Type and Background Effects” on the book's CD.
