Enhancing Clouds
It's not hard to get a photo of some great-looking clouds, but there is one problem—when you're combining clouds with another image, you can't see through the sky! Here's what you can do in this situation: Double-click in the empty area to the right of the name of the layer your clouds are on. By moving the upper-left slider toward the center, you're going to make the sky disappear so you can see the underlying image. To make the edges of the clouds blend into the underlying image, hold down the Option key (Mac) or Alt key (Windows) and split the upper-left slider into two parts. By experimenting with both halves of the slider, you'll be able to create the look of fog, faint clouds, or dense clouds (Figures 15.28 to 15.31). ...
