Straight Lines
Have you ever seen a carpenter “snap a chalk line” to get a straight line over an area? There are occasions when I've been grateful to know how to do something similar in Photoshop. Let's say you have an image of a woman that you need to remove from a background that contains a straight line (a wall in my case). That means that you're going to have to replace the woman with a new section of wall. For that to look realistic, the section of wall you use to replace the woman will have to perfectly line up with the sections of wall on either side of her head. When you get into this kind of situation, try this: Move your cursor until it's touching the original line (or edge of the wall, in this case). When it's perfectly touching it, ...
