When I went on the O’Reilly platform, I was astonished to find all the books there, plus live events and sandboxes so you could play around with the technology.I’ve been on the O’Reilly platform for more than eight years. I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Clear Mode
This is another blending mode that shows up only in certain areas of Photoshop (like in the painting tools and Edit > Fill command). Clear mode is basically the same as using the Eraser tool, or selecting an area and then pressing Delete (Mac) or Backspace (Windows).
 | If you'd rather not permanently lower the opacity of an area, then you might want to think about using a Layer Mask instead (see the next chapter for general info on Layer Masks). Clear mode is like putting gray in a Layer Mask. Filling with 40% opacity in Clear mode is the same as filling part of a Layer Mask with 40% gray.
