Okay, start your engines. We're going to stop babbling and start driving! Go ahead—open an image, choose Image > Adjustments > Curves, and start messing with the curve. Just click anywhere on the curve to add a point, and then drag it around to change the shape of the curve. If you want to get rid of a point, drag it off the edge of the grid.
