Creating a 3-D Cover Mock Up

To create the 3-D cover mock up shown here, I took a photograph of a similarly-sized book. I flattened the newly created collage and moved it into the book photograph. I then distorted the cover to match the shape of photographic cover by using the Edit > Transform > Distort command (Figure 15.173). Finally, I used the Gradient tool in Multiply mode to add subtle shading to the cover, which added realism to the end result (Figure 15.174).
