When I went on the O’Reilly platform, I was astonished to find all the books there, plus live events and sandboxes so you could play around with the technology.I’ve been on the O’Reilly platform for more than eight years. I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Painting, Filters & Adjustments
Many of Photoshop's tools will be disabled when a Smart Object is active in the Layers palette. Here are a few tricks you can use to get around that limitation:
To apply paint to a Smart Object, create a new layer directly above the Smart Object and choose Layer > Create Clipping Mask so that any paint applied to the layer will only show up where the Smart Object appears.
To adjust a Smart Object without affecting the rest of the image (with the Smart Object layer selected), hold Option (Mac) or Alt (Windows), click on the Adjustment Layer pop-up menu at the bottom of the Layers palette and choose the adjustment you'd like to apply. When the New Layer dialog box appears, turn on the Use Previous Layer to Create ...
