So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Closing Thoughts
When trying to mask out the background of an image, try to make the process as easy as possible by thinking about the following concepts. Consider making a general selection of the background area and pressing Delete or Backspace before using any of the masking tools. That way you won't waste your time using the finer, surgical tools to delete the big obvious areas that don't require that kind of precision. Then you can let the masking tools concentrate on the difficult edge areas between the subject and background.
Perform color correction on your image before attempting to isolate the subject from the background. Any unwanted colorcasts in the image will cause the subject and background to be more similar in color and contrast, ...
