Use a highlight material as feedback

When creating the ImageSelector script, we discussed the importance of creating a feedback mechanism to help the user determine which object is being viewed. In the script, we created a public variable called hilightMaterial but, at that time, we had not defined a material to be used. The following steps outline the creation process:

  1. Choose Create | Material in the Project window menu.
  2. Rename the material Highlight.
  3. Choose a color with high contrast as your highlight. A high-contrast color makes it easier to tell which object is being gazed upon.
