The embed Element
The nonstandard embed
element was addressed briefly in the previous section. Here it is
covered in more detail. The embed
element was originally created by Netscape for use with plug-in
technologies. It is currently supported by most browsers; however,
because it is not included in any HTML Recommendation, it will cause
(X)HTML documents to be invalid. Whenever possible, authors are advised
to use object
for multimedia objects
and use embed
as a last resort
fallback. All available attributes for the embed
element are described in Appendix A.
