With Setup off the launch pad, you receive several prompts before the installation process begins in earnest. If you started Setup from DOS, you see the following prompt:
Setup is now going to perform a routine check on your system. To continue, Press Enter. To quit Setup, press ESC.
Press Enter and Setup performs the ScanDisk check you learned about earlier. If ScanDisk finds any problems, it tells you and gives you various options on how to proceed.
