Protecting System Files with Registry Scan

At startup, Windows 98 automatically checks the Registry files for corruption and creates backup copies of these files. The utility that performs these tasks is called Registry Scan and it comes in two flavors:

SCANREG: This is the real-mode version of Registry Scan, and it's located in the Command subfolder of your main Windows 98 folder.

SCANREGW: This is the protected-mode version of Registry Scan, and it's located in your main Windows 98 folder.

Here's the syntax:

SCANREG [/BACKUP] [/RESTORE] [/AUTORUN] [/COMMENT]
SCANREGW [/BACKUP] [/RESTORE] [/AUTORUN] [/FIX] [/COMMENT]
