Connecting to Your Service Provider

With your Internet connection set up and ready for action, you can establish your Net session at any time. You have two ways to proceed:

  • Open the appropriate Dial-Up Networking connection directly.
  • Launch an Internet application and access a Net-based resource (such as a Web site or an FTP site). Windows 98 prompts you to initiate your Internet connection.

When you're connecting to your ISP, you may see the Post-Dial Terminal window, shown in Figure 32.13, where you can enter your logon options. Depending on the ISP (and whether you're using a script), you might have to enter some or all of the following information (if you just see a blank terminal window, try pressing Enter):

  • Your username.

  • Your password. ...
