Accessing Network Resources

If all has gone well to this point, you are just about ready for action. Your newfound network will be up and running, and your Windows 98 machines will be able to connect to the network. Now all that remains is to log on and start looking around your net.

Logging on to the Network

With networking enabled on a Windows 98 machine, you are faced with a logon prompt each time you restart the system. One of the innovations with Windows 98 is that you can use a single unified logon for all your networks (and Windows 98 itself). The first time you start Windows 98, however, you might have to negotiate multiple logon dialog boxes. The trick to establishing the unified logon is to assign the same password for each logon.
