It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Windows 98 and Your Monitor
Your monitor shows the end result of all the pixel pushing done by the graphics adapter, so it's no less an important component. This section gives you a few pointers to bear in mind when shopping for a monitor, shows you how to change the monitor type, and gives you the steps to follow to implement Windows 98's multiple-monitor support.
Changing the Monitor Type
If you change your monitor and it's Plug and Play–compatible, Windows 98 should detect it automatically the next time you restart your machine. However, in some cases Windows 98 may not detect the monitor properly and will, instead, list it as “Unknown Monitor.” If this happens, follow these steps to ensure that Windows 98 detects your monitor:
