Navigating with Internet Explorer

Now that you're familiar with the lay of the Internet Explorer land, you can start using it to navigate sites. The next few sections take you through the various ways you can use Internet Explorer to wend your way through the Web.

Following the Links

As I've said, Internet Explorer displays hypertext links in an underlined font that's a different color from the rest of the text. To follow one of these links, you have three choices:

  • Click it with the mouse. (Image maps work the same way: Position the mouse pointer over the portion of the map you want to see and then click.)
  • Right-click the link and choose Open.
  • Right-click the link and choose Open in New Window. This command spawns a new Internet Explorer window ...
