Windows 98 and the Broadcast Architecture

One of the most intriguing technologies included in the Windows 98 package is the Broadcast Architecture. This is a set of tools and components that enable PCs to accept broadcast signals from just about any network source, including cable, wireless cable, MBONE, satellite (DSS and DirectTV), Ethernet, ISDN, ADSL, and traditional television networks. Broadcast Architecture follows a standard client/server model, where a broadcast-enhanced computer becomes the broadcast client that is capable of receiving and displaying signals sent by a broadcast server.
