Recording and Editing Sounds with the Sound Recorder

If you have a sound card capable of recording sounds (and you have a microphone attached to the sound card), you can have hours of fun creating your own WAV files. Preserving silly sounds for posterity is the most fun, of course, but you can also create serious messages and embed them in business documents. (I'll show you how in the next section.)

To get started, open the Sound Recorder as described earlier. If the Sound Recorder already has a WAV file opened, and you want to start a new file, select File | New.
