This chapter showed you how to install and uninstall applications in Windows 98. I began by showing you a few tips and techniques for practicing “safe” setups. These included checking for viruses, having a bootable disk nearby, backing up configuration files, reading the documentation, and taking control of the installation. I then showed you how to wield the Add/Remove Programs Wizard. The rest of the chapter showed you how to install and uninstall 32-bit applications, 16-bit applications, and DOS programs.
