Using the Microsoft System Information Utility

Adequate information is one of the keys to both keeping a system healthy and troubleshooting a system should something go awry. To that end, it helps to have as much data as possible about the state of the system's hardware, software, and other inner workings. Device Manager can help, but for a truly comprehensive look at what's happening inside your system, you can't beat the new System Information (SI) utility that comes with Windows 98.
