The Leader’s Role in Creative Resolution
Brilliant solutions don’t occur spontaneously, especially for the kind of
complex problem we saw at Google. They come from working through
ideas, options, alternatives, even failures and mistakes, and combining them
in new ways to find the best solution. Indeed, the ability to see a problem
whole and then integrate a variety of perspectives and ideas is a crucial part
of the innovation process. It was a key concern of all the leaders we studied.
