TRON arrays
Developed by Ken Sakamura ( sakamura ken), the TRON keyboard array is simi-
lar in concept to other Japanese keyboard arrays in that several ergonomic and other
optimizations were made in its design. TRON stands for e Real-time Operating system
Nucleus. More information about the TRON Project is available in Appendix E.
ere are two common instances of the TRON keyboard array: TK1 and TRON (Micro
TRON). Both instances of the TRON keyboard include the Dvorak array for accessing
Latin characters (although the gures in this chapter do not show them). e TK1 design
is laid out in an ergonomic fashion, as illustrated in Figure 5-15.
e TRON design is more conventional in arrangement so that it can be used for note-
book computers. It is illustrated in Figure 5-16.
