Some word processors, such as NJStar, also provide support for these dictionary les as a
way for users to input text or look up unknown words.
ere are other frontend soware packages for dictionary les, but the dictionary les
themselves are in what I consider to be proprietary formats.
Web-Based Dictionaries
ere are now many dictionaries and dictionary-like resources that are accessible through
web browsers. Some of these simply act as a frontend to dictionaries that are easily acces-
sible, and some are accessible only through the Web. e following are some samples of
