Chapter 11: Dictionaries and Dictionary Software
HANJADIC—Korean hanja dictionary
For those who work with ideographs in a Korean context, Dan Bravender developed
HANJADIC, which is the Korean analog of KANJIDIC.
*
Instead of being a static diction-
ary le, HANJADIC is a program, written in Ruby, that provides four ways with which to
search: in English, by reading, by character compound, and by the character itself.
HANJADIC is also available through a web interface, which arguably allows it to reach a
wider audience.
