So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Dynamics 365 Business Central – on-premise versus SaaS
Microsoft Dynamics NAV and Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central have the same application base and the same functionalities; the big difference is in the type of deployment: on-premise or on SaaS.
On-premise versus SaaS Infrastructure—here are some differences related to the different aspects of on-premise and SaaS deployments:
- On-premise:
- Initial costs exist
- The on-premise product life cycle less than the one in SaaS; always updated
- The hardware must be updated
- You need IT support for maintenance
- SaaS:
- No initial costs, only pay for what you use
- The life cycle of the product is unlimited, always updated to the latest version
- Maintenance in SaaS is done by Microsoft, no IT support ...
