We used the Copy Data option to copy the data from a company that's set up within Microsoft Dynamics NAV or Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central. Suppose we want to migrate the data from an external source. We wouldn't want to use the copy data functionality because that data isn't even in Microsoft Dynamics NAV yet!
We can utilize Microsoft Dynamics NAV to export the structure that we've defined on the configuration package and configuration worksheet into Microsoft Excel. Then, you can either copy/paste the data or manually enter the data into Excel and import it back in to Microsoft Dynamics NAV. To do so, perform the following steps:
