I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Removing a Domain Controller
Occasionally, you might want to demote a domain controller to a member server, such as getting new hardware for the DC or in a lab situation in which you want to remove the domain and start fresh. Unlike in NT, which requires a reinstall to change domain membership or demote the domain controller, in Windows 2000 becoming a domain controller is not a one-way trip.
Demotion Considerations
The primary issue to consider is that you can add domain controllers to and remove DCs from a domain to your heart's content, but if you remove the last domain controller in a domain, that domain ceases to exist.
