Summary
Sites are just the beginning of understanding and configuring replication with Active Directory. They are the basis for how you will establish replication any time you have slow links between locations and you want to control replication traffic and authentication traffic. Remember to place a global catalog and DNS server in each site to further optimize your network. This alleviates clients traversing the WAN to issues queries against the GC and also lessens the traffic generated by DNS lookups.
