It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Summary
Backing up your system is one of the most vital tasks you can ever perform in your role as a network administrator; however, it is also one of the most least understood. You must not only perform your backups, but you also must prepare and document the restore process. You definitely do not want to wait to perform your first restore until your boss is standing over your shoulder waiting for the system to be brought back online. Back up daily and perform a test restore at least once a month to keep your sanity and your job.
