I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Summary
Domain upgrades and migrations are planning-intensive projects. They require a very real investment in planning and knowledge of the source and destination domains. Both Microsoft and third parties provide a number of tools to ease this sometimes onerous process.
The upgrade should be planned with long-term goals in mind. Some companies will want to simplify their domain structures as a part of the upgrade process. The scalability of Windows 2000 and Active Directory encourages fewer domains. Several tools that are part of the Windows 2000 product, such as movetree, ldifde, and netdom, enable you to move or copy users and computers from one domain to another.
