The Active Directory Services Interface
The Active Directory Services Interface (ADSI) is a COM-based interface to the power of the Windows 2000 Active Directory. Because you are using the exact same COM DLLs with ADSI scripts that you use with the Active Directory Users and Computers tool, there is practically no limit to the functionality exposed with ADSI.
This chapter looks at ADSI scripting with the goal of automating some mundane administrator tasks. Then, you use the iadstools.dll found in the support tools to build some troubleshooting tools for replication and group policy.
This is not a programming book. You will find that the code examples used to illustrate ADSI make much more sense if you have a basic scripting or development background. ...
