Layout

The layout defines the general structure of the application and where each item is in relation to others on the screen. Whether a button should be at the top or bottom of the screen or whether it belongs to a tab bar should be reflected in the wireframe. Aspects like the font family can be specified in another kind of document, so we can isolate the functionality here without any noise. We should also represent whether a heading or a button is bigger than another and it belongs to a group, in order to provide a clear hierarchy to the view we represent. You can use colors to highlight important elements of your wireframe. They are very handy in driving the reader's focus towards those areas that need further attention.
