Scenarios and tasks

The next step is to decide what users will be doing for you to learn from their interactions and any issues they may find on their way. Unfortunately, we cannot tell users exactly what to do. If you direct your users too much, they will be just following instructions, and you won't learn about the issues they may find when using the real product, and you will not be there to help.

When defining the testing scenarios, you need to provide enough context for the user to understand what needs to be achieved. The user will be in charge of figuring out the steps to achieve a specific goal.

You can adapt your scenarios to be presented in one of these forms:

  • General scenarios: Ask the users to give their initial impression of ...
