Very slow transitions may go unnoticed by users. It is in our nature to detect quick movements so any fast movement is highly noticeable, but an overuse of them could be stressing for your users. Also, our perception has limits, and some really quick movements could be interpreted as a flash without being able to appreciate in detail what is happening. We have to find a balance that allows the user to perceive the changes in a pleasant and easy-to-understand way.
