It is important to organize your application properly to match the mental model of our users as it is providing a suitable search system. In applications with a lot of content such as YouTube, it would be practically impossible to reach all the content just by browsing through menus.

The moment a user taps on the magnifying glass or the search box, we can start working on the user experience of the search process. It is generally a good idea to clean the screen of any other item with the aim of focusing the user on the task he is doing, avoiding distractions.
