Human–Computer Interaction
Software developers and computer designers do not think of computers as
objects to which rules of etiquette apply. In fact, when asked, people do not
think so either; yet, this does not keep them from relating to computers as
if they were human. Etiquette is essential in all cultures to facilitate trust,
develop relationships, and support effective and productive interactions. It’s
equally essential for enabling people and computers to do the same.
Computers are here to stay so we had best learn to get along with them.
