only function on a technical level, but must also be easy, eective, and
enjoyable to use. Additionally, we hope these perspectives will provide
approaches to inform design of software tools for customers in emerg-
ing markets outside Europe and the U.S. where customers may have
very dierent cultural expectations (see Figure1.3, and Chapter 6).
An explicit understanding of human–computer etiquette may allow
software designers to better support people’s preferred way of working
