I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Configuring the infrastructure
The second most important aspect is configuration of the infrastructure. The configuration of the infrastructure doesn't just mean the original configuration, but also deployment of the software that is written, perform canary upgrades, blue-green deployments, and so on.
Configuration management systems help us in managing the configuration of the infrastructure. There are several systems, which allow us to manage the configuration of the servers and several of them are open source.
The distinction in the configuration management systems are as follows:
- Agent based, for example, Chef and Puppet
- Agentless, for example, Ansible
