I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Implementing a Kubernetes federation
The federation of a Kubernetes cluster is implemented using the kubefed system. The official documentation for federation is available at: https://kubernetes.io/docs/tasks/federation/set-up-cluster-federation-kubefed/.
The requirements of implementing a Kubernetes federation is fairly straightforward:
- A DNS provider that can be manipulated with AP's - Currently, Google Cloud Platform and AWS Route 53 are supported. If there is none, we can use the etcd in the federation controller in order to host the DNS. We will then need to use the proper NS records to redirect to the DNS server.
- Another Kubernetes cluster where kubefed will be installed.
We will use Juju to set up the clusters.
