Let's take a scenario, and design an environment for it. So, we are designing the AWS environment for a fictitious company, Acme Inc., which is a conglomerate that has five different business units, Real Estate, Healthcare, Oil, Gas, Transport, and the Corporate unit, which takes care of the remaining four BUs.
Each of the business units are autonomous, however, the corporate IT team takes care of the IT and security requirements for all business units. For the preceding BUs, IT is not a main business, but an enabler. All of them have several COTS, FOSS, and bespoke applications that they want to move to AWS. The bespoke applications have development, testing, and UAT environments.
