I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Using the AWS storage gateway
Now, that we know about the traditional and modern outlook of the storage, let's now start with the storage gateway service of AWS, which allows us to use its Cloud as a tier. This is known as hybrid cloud storage.
In addition to allowing us to do backups to the cloud, we can also use the system to run a few batch processes, or burst any application that doesn't need real-time data in the cloud.
The AWS hybrid gateway can be used as:
- A file server system
- A virtual tape library
- A block storage system
Please remember that uploads to the cloud are free, but downloads are charged at a fee (similar to that of data leaving a region) on VPN connections or otherwise. This needs to be kept in mind before connecting ...
