IAM and Active Directory 

This one is simpler to architect. The questions that we need to think about are the following: 

• Do third-party systems need authentication or plan to use SaaS? 

If yes, we will need a system that can perform federation, such as ADFS

• Do a lot of internal applications in the public cloud need to access the Active Directory? 

If yes, we will create a secondary domain controller/additional domain controller in the public cloud and add the relevant sites and services information

Of course, other problem statements such as certification authority servers and key management systems will need to be considered along the same lines.
