7.2 Sampling Random Data from a Column
Using any of the aforementioned procedures, introduce the numeric values 1 to 49 in column C1. To obtain a random sample of size six from these values, do the following.
Calc > Random Data > Sample From Columns
Fill the dialog box that appears, as indicated below:
This option could be used in simulation programs. A way to perform a simulation is using a Minitab macro, which allows the repetition of commands. A search on the Minitab help with the term ‘macro’ gives information about the different types of macros available.
