Dictation
Input in HoloLens is tricky. We can use a Bluetooth keyboard to facilitate text entry, but we have already decided this is not what we want: a user will not carry a keyboard around all the time. There is an alternative: the on-screen keyboard. However, using this is not as easy as it seems. It can be quite hard to enter text; people get quite tired after using it.
Luckily, we can use speech here as well. In front of the text entry field there is a button with a microphone on it. Select that (using an airtap, the clicker, or just by looking at it and saying Select), and you can dictate your text. The words you say will appear in that box.
