Our apps live in the real world. This means we can take advantage of the physical structures around us in our app. Imagine we are writing a game where we have to follow a character around the living room. At the time of writing this game, we have no idea what the user's living room looks like. We can safely assume there are walls, a floor, and a ceiling, but that is about it. So, we must use the spatial mapping feature to detect these structures and place our game objects in the right position.
