Sometimes the system just makes mistakes. The good news is that it usually corrects itself. As you might recall, the depth sensor is continuously working on getting data and feeding this to the HPU. The HPU is thus continuously working on perfecting the surface scan and updating the mapping. The bad news is that external factors the system cannot do anything about may be the reason things go wrong.
