I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Hey, Cortana
Since HoloLens is a Windows 10 device, it comes preinstalled with Cortana. Cortana is the digital assistant in Windows. You usually interact with her through the use of voice commands. You start a conversation with Cortana by saying Hey, Cortana, after which the familiar Cortana interface will show up.
You can use all sorts of commands. You can ask Cortana to tell a joke, ask her where she comes from, and other funny things. Of course, she can also help you handle your agenda and inform you of the weather.
Next to these standard Cortana commands there are a bunch of special commands for HoloLens, as follows:
- What can I say?
- Go home / Go to start (same as the Bloom gesture)
- Launch <app name>
- Move <app> here
- Take a picture
- Start ...
